Daily Life at Parris Lawn Care Home
Personalise Your Stay at Parris Lawn
The wonderful surroundings at our care home in East Sussex are matched by the standard of care our team brings residents.
Your loved one’s time is tailored to their individual needs, interests and preferences, because we love learning as much as we can about those in our care. This can be as small as knowing when they like to wake up, to how they like their tea, and everything in between.
Our residents choose how to run the home based on their preferences. If they prefer dinner in front of the TV, or even dusting their own room, we’ll make it happen. Just as putting their own stamp on their bedroom, we’ll help them to personalise it with the things they love. Giving as much independence as possible to those living or staying at Parris Lawn Care Home in Lewes is vital for happiness and well-being.
We consistently apply infection control procedures and services that meet or exceed the requirements and expectations of our customers.

Find out more about Parris Lawn's Home Manager, Costin MateiAs Parris Lawn’s Home Manager, I believe care is about providing holistic, person-centred support that respects the dignity and individuality of each person. It involves addressing physical health needs and promoting emotional, social, and mental well-being. Quality care is compassionate, respectful, and tailored to each individual's specific preferences and needs.
My career in nursing began over ten years ago in Romania, where I worked in various healthcare settings. The rigorous curriculum and hands-on clinical experience provided a solid foundation for my nursing career. After relocating to the UK in 2015, I joined a great team of nurses and senior nurses and developed my skills further before starting as the Deputy Manager for Parris Lawn. Throughout my career, I have been committed to continuous professional development, ensuring I stay current with best practices and innovations in healthcare.
With a significant portion of that time dedicated to elderly care, it’s provided me with the experience of being able to understand our residents' unique needs and challenges. Choosing to work with Caring Homes was an easy decision, and it was because of their strong commitment to delivering exceptional care and its reputation for fostering a supportive and positive work environment. The company’s values align with my dedication to providing compassionate, high-quality care and I was particularly impressed by their focus on continuous improvement and innovation in care practices.
My drive to succeed is fueled by a deep passion for making a positive difference in the lives of our residents. Knowing that the care we provide directly impacts their quality of life motivates me to strive for excellence. Additionally, the support and development of my team are crucial; seeing them grow and succeed brings me great satisfaction.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending quality moments with my family, which helps me stay grounded. I am also passionate about reading, particularly books on leadership and healthcare, as they provide valuable insights and inspiration for my professional life. Additionally, I like to stay active through sports and outdoor activities, which are great for maintaining physical health and well-being.

Our Head Chef and the team have many years of cooking experience. They craft their nutritionally balanced menus using seasonal produce, and are guided by the feedback provided to them from our residents during their monthly hospitality meetings and individual care plans.
All members of our care teams are given the training and support needed to help them provide the highest standards of care.
Caring Homes has been providing care for over 29 years. Every team member receives our unique ‘Living in my World’ dementia training.
It highlights the importance of meaningful activities and a stimulating environment for people living with dementia, as well as addressing clinical aspects of care.
The ‘Food in my World’ training provides the hospitality team and chefs with the skills and knowledge to stimulate senses and increase creativity in the cooking and presentation of food. This can provide a much-improved dining experience for residents living with dementia and or dysphagia.
The length of time people spend in a care home varies according to their needs and preferences. At Parris Lawn, we offer permanent care to suit your needs or perhaps a respite stay might be required during a period of convalescence after being in hospital. Day Care is also available at many homes to ensure care can continue when a regular carer is unavailable.
