Located on the outskirts of the delightful village of Horsell, our stunning care home in Woking is built to the latest care standards offering dementia, residential and nursing care on a permanent and short stay basis.
Living here is all about luxury, comfort and choice. There are many different enticing spaces to relax at Horsell Lodge such as the bistro and quiet lounges dotted around the home. We understand that residents like to continue to look their best, so our hair salon is open regularly for beauty treatments and pamper sessions. We also offer professional physiotherapy sessions.
We are proud to be the only care home group to have our own unique award-winning dementia training and our innovative design features can help people to live well with dementia.
Introducing Grandma’s Cottage
A simple maintenance shed was thoughtfully transformed into a fully functioning kitchen and toilet facility by our dedicated residents. This charming space now serves as a great area for any green-fingered residents to do a bit of gardening or simply enjoy the nearby tranquil memorial garden accessible via Horsell Lodge's Cottage path.
Our Home Manager, Julie Bignell, was joined by residents, families, and team members, as local Mayor, Ilyas Raja, officially opened Grandma's Cottage. The opening was a huge success with guests and residents enjoying some afternoon tea while listening to musical performances from Jubilee High School.
Round The Clock Nursing Care
Horsell Lodge Care Home is delighted to introduce our new Nursing Care service, designed to cater to residents with complex care needs that demand round-the-clock attention. Our dedicated nursing team, comprised of highly qualified and empathetic nurses, is dedicated to providing expert care 24/7. Their specialised skills encompass both social and medical care, ensuring a comprehensive approach to each resident's wellbeing.

We love learning as much as we can about the people we care for, so your loved one’s time is tailored to their individual needs, interests and preferences. We give as much independence as possible at Horsell Lodge, letting individuals choose how to run the home and if they prefer dinner in front of the TV, or even dusting their own room, we’ll make it happen. Just as putting their own stamp on their bedroom, we’ll help them to personalise it with the things they love.

Find out more about our Home Manager, Julie BignellJulie is our Home Manager at Horsell Lodge Care Home, here's a little bit more about the home in her own words:
As the Home Manager I believe our residents should be able to live the life they want and be able to be themselves. I enjoy taking on the responsibilities that come with managing a home and I encourage the inclusion of everyone in the home, to create a friendly environment and a great place for us all to live and work.
I have worked in a variety of roles within the care sector for over 40 years, including being a registered nurse in the NHS for 20 years in intensive care and then moving to a nursing role within a care home. From there I progressed to Home Manager and have managed various sized homes, giving me great experience and having worked as a nurse in this setting previously I understand what the day-to-day role involves so I can support my team.
I operate an open-door policy and am approachable, not only to my team, but to the residents and their relatives too as it is their home. I encourage residents to make their rooms their own, by bringing in meaningful items to help make it homely for them.
The care background of the owners of Caring Homes is what stood out to me when joining as they understand what is involved at home level and there is a strong support network in place for me and my team to continually develop. I am passionate about seeing my team members grow and develop in their roles at the home as I work with them to offer the best care and environment possible for our residents.
In my spare time I love to travel and understand different cultures, I never go back to the same place twice as the world is so big and has so much to offer. I am also interested in ancestry, which I find fascinating and is a journey of discovery.

Nursing fees include Local Authority nursing contributions (Funded Nursing Contribution) if applicable.
Fee rates are also determined by the size and aspect of the room and the duration of the stay (short stay/respite or permanent). Fees are payable monthly in advance.

Our Head Chef and the team have many years of cooking experience. They craft their nutritionally balanced menus using seasonal produce, and are guided by the feedback provided to them from our residents during their monthly hospitality meetings and individual care plans.
All members of our care teams are given the training and support needed to help them provide the highest standards of care.
Caring Homes has been providing care across the UK for over 29 years. Every team member receives our unique ‘Living in my World’ dementia training.
It highlights the importance of meaningful activities and a stimulating environment for people living with dementia, as well as addressing clinical aspects of care.
The ‘Food in my World’ training provides the hospitality team and chefs with the skills and knowledge to stimulate senses and increase creativity in the cooking and presentation of food. This can provide a much-improved dining experience for residents living with dementia and or dysphagia.
The length of time people spend in a care home varies according to their needs and preferences. At Horsell Lodge, we offer permanent care to suit your needs or perhaps a respite stay might be required during a period of convalescence after being in hospital. Day Care is also available at many homes to ensure care can continue when a regular carer is unavailable.
