We make the environment feel like home through the introduction of smaller, simpler spaces. Our design philosophy

Our overriding design philosophy is to provide homes that ensure residents have the highest quality of life and this is achieved through four key elements – care, light, the environment and the continuous interaction between external and internal spaces.

Living space

Different lounges enable residents to enjoy the morning sunshine or the evening sunset . The changes in daylight throughout the day help to signal the passing of time to maintain a normal sleeping pattern.

Community

Open plan café bistro to entertain friends and neighbours, keeping residents connected to the wider community.

A day with purpose

Activity rooms, Hair and Nail Salon, Cinema and Bistro are designed with residents and their visitors in mind. Residents can enjoy baking using cookers in activity rooms.

Independence

Dining rooms include kitchenettes with refrigerators, kettles, ovens, and sinks, for self-service by residents, friends and family.

Entertaining family

A private dining room allows friends and families to get-together for special occasions, the cinema room can also be transformed into a function room.

Enjoying the outdoors

Wind-proof glazed terraces and balconies provide outdoor enjoyment and stunning views all year round. Level paths make gardens accessible for walks and gentle activity.

A room with a view

Garden rooms enjoy privacy and outdoor seating for warm days and summer evenings, as well as covered spaces to provide shelter in the cooler months. Low level sills maximise light and make the outside views accessible in all rooms.

Safe and accessible

Doors to en-suite wet rooms are fitted with two-way hinges, allowing them to be opened inwards and outwards, so if a resident should fall inside the bathroom, the door can be opened outwards to allow help quickly and safely.

Call for assistance

Our silent nurse call system alerts the care team and cannot be heard by other residents, so is less distressing and does not disturb them at night.

Automatic lighting

All en-suite room lights automatically switch on when movement is detected minimising the risk of falls and is a guide for residents to find their way to the en-suite facilities.

Living well with dementia

Open shelving can help a person living with dementia to find the right clothes and can minimise confusion.

Our homes have been designed using Caring Homes 25 years of experience as well as latest research from leaders in dementia research, Stirling University who are an international center of knowledge and experience. This includes architects, designers and dementia specialists dedicated to improving lives and decreasing everyday problems that come with dementia, using a range of techniques based on continual research.
