A busy week at Horsell Lodge
The residents at Horsell Lodge Care Home have been busy enjoying a range of activities, entertainment and celebrations this week. They celebrated Bastille Day in typical French style, the home was decorated with French flags and bunting along with traditional French posters to create an authentic feeling of being transported to France. French music played throughout the day and Coq au Vin and chocolate roulade took their place on the themed menu. Everyone had fun learning about French culture and history and Joyce, Connie and Keith looked the part in their French berets.
Once again the residents were entertained by singing group “The Lantern Voices”, a group who were back by popular demand and deservedly so! With their own versions of hits such as Abba’s “Money, Money, Money”, the quartet pleased the crowd, in particular Bea whose daughter was also participating. Everyone enjoyed listening and singing along to the classics.
Over the weekend the residents enjoyed a variety of activities. A competitive game of chess and a quiz to ensure the mind is kept active, balloon games and beanbag throwing to keep arms and legs moving, a catch up on the latest gossip to encourage socialisation and to stimulate the mind and topped off with ice cream to please the senses. A rewarding end to a productive weekend!
