A taste of China at Hillside

Residents at Hillside Care Home in Sudbury welcomed in the year of the Ox for Chinese New Year.

Staff decorated the dining room for the Chinese feast, with lots of traditional red to symbolise good luck and prosperity. Residents loved the beautiful decorations as they entered the dining room setting the scene for their Chinese celebration. They enjoyed trying the different tastes and textures.

Chef cooked a menu of egg fried rice, chicken in sweet and sour sauce, beef in black bean sauce and pork noodles, the residents thoroughly enjoyed trying the tastes and textures.

Over the meal we all discussed the different Chinese symbols and the years we were born in.
