A Trip Down Memory Lane at Brooklyn House
At Brooklyn House Nursing Home, we cherish the moments that bring a smile to our residents' faces. This month, resident Mary Foster embarked on a heartwarming journey down memory lane, accompanied by friends who were once her colleagues.
In the swinging sixties, Mary Foster (pictured 4th from the right, top image), was the epitome of fashion and elegance, just like many ladies in Attleborough. She worked for the renowned Attleborough brush makers, Britton Brush, and when the annual social event at the Samson & Hercules Club came around, Mary seized the opportunity to shine.
While Mary may not have won the coveted title of "Miss Britton," she, like all the other contestants, had a splendid time. In those days, Attleborough & Wymondham ladies were devoted followers of fashion, revelling in the joy of dressing up and having a blast.
Fast forward to today, and Mary's love for looking her best is as strong as ever. With the unwavering support of her children, Richard and Julie, she continues to embrace her daily routine including applying makeup, weekly visits to our salon for hairdressing and manicures, and meticulously coordinating her outfits.
At Brooklyn House Nursing Home, we understand the significance of nurturing daily routines and interests, ensuring that residents always feel their best.
Reminiscing is a delightful way to spend an afternoon, accompanied by a warm cup of tea, and it's one of our favourite activities. We extend an open invitation for all residents to join us in creating cherished moments like Mary's.
