Accordion afternoon at Cedar House
9th March 2016
Residents at Cedar House were entertained with an afternoon of beautiful singing and accordion playing from the lovely Svelte, who played a mix of classical Russian, Italian and Spanish songs, as well as old favourites such as Elvis Presley. Svetla also presented us with interesting facts about the songs which added an extra element to the whole experience. She handed out instruments to some of the group, including Barry, Doreen and Katie G, who played the maracas and bells and really got involved. Pauline (one of the residents) also unexpectedly captured us with some of her wonderful singing and a great time was had by all.Sue McBroom, Home Manager said“The residents all really enjoyed themselves and got involved by playing instruments along to the singing and accordion. A good afternoon was had by everyone, residents and staff alike.”We eagerly look forward to and enjoy musicians coming into Cedar House as it is great for stimulation, it can reawaken personal memories and associations and gets everyone together. Even if you're are not one to join in singing along, a little bit of hand and foot tapping can often be seen.We look forward to welcoming Svetla back again.
