Alf turns 101!
30th March 2016
On Wednesday 30th March 2016, Laverstock Care Centre celebrated the birthday of Alf Baker who turned 101 years old. Champagne, a birthday cake and lots of family members and care staff were present on the day, which helped to make this a wonderful birthday to remember.Everybody enjoyed listening to the many stories Alf had to tell and the changes he has seen over the years. Alf particularly loves to talk about his times at the fayre ground where he enjoyed watching motor cyclists ride the wall of death!Born in 1915, Alf has been through two world wars. He remembers his father coming home from World War One on his horse, banging his drum as he rode through the streets. Thirty years later, Alf himself was signed up for World Ware Two and was posted to Africa.Alf said he has had a wonderful life and loves to reminisce about the ‘Good Old Days’ at any given opportunity.
