All Fingers and Thumbs at Laverstock Care Centre
30th August 2017
Laverstock Care Centre Activities Coordinator, Barry Pentelow successfully organised a Summer Concert at our home in Salisbury.Barry played the piano and was accompanied by one of our Carers, George who played the guitar. One of our residents Michael also joined in and played the piano.Calling themselves ‘Fingers and Thumbs’, the musicians entertained our residents, family and friends with a selection of songs and the concert was followed by Pimm’s and nibbles. The concert was recorded so that it can be played again on the big screen for residents to enjoy whenever they want to.It was a great concert and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We are eagerly looking forward to seeing and hearing ‘Fingers and Thumbs’ appear again soon. With ten years’ experience, Barry connects and communicates easily with every resident and we are proud to announce that he scooped a top award for fulfilling lives at the Caring Homes Group Recognition Awards this year. With over 5,500 employees across the group Barry beat off stiff competition to win the Fulfilling Lives Award for Caring Homes.Laverstock Care Centre is a modern purpose built care home situated in the medieval cathedral City of Salisbury offering residential, nursing and dementia care for up to 80 elderly residents. To find out more about Laverstock Care Centre and life at the home, please contact us on 0808 223 5520 or email [email protected].
