America here we come at Blenheim Court
The residents and team at Blenheim Court Care Home have been enjoying an American themed month with a range of events and activities celebrating the USA. There have been so many highlights...
The team dressed up in cowboy and girl outfits and the residents were thoroughly entertained when there was some line dancing to get involved in, two members of the team Olivia and Jo brought the wild west to the their home and tried their best to teach us how its done.
It wouldn't be right to not celebrate the USA without trying to make their American styled dunkin donuts and that was what the weekly baking club at the home got involved in and it is fair to say they went down a treat.
To round off what has been a wonderful month and the journey along Route 66 took everyone to Las Vegas, Nevada. The bistro was transformed into a Vegas style wedding reception boasting a beautifully presented buffet complete with a 3 tier wedding cake. Elvis performed some of his classic songs which the residents and team danced their night away to, while gamblers amongst them made their way to the casino. A party isn't complete without cocktails and on offer were 'Blue Suede Shoes' and the famous 'Vesper Martini'.
In the words of the King himself...
"Blenheim gave it everything they got,
Frank made sure the dice stayed hot,
'Twas a night that will not be forgot,
Viva, VIVA, Las Vegas!"
