Art Exhibition at The Orchard
At The Orchard Nursing Home in St Albans we held an Art Exhibition event for our residents and residents’ relatives to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.
The wellbeing team have been putting on different art activities each week for the residents to get involved in, the residents love the creative sessions the wellbeing team put on for them in the afternoons, and there is usually a big turnout.
On arrival residents and their loved ones were greeted with prosecco and canapes as they entered the living room to see the resident’s artwork displayed. The TV screen displayed rolling photos of residents showing them in action during their creative sessions whilst they created their art pieces for family, friends, and staff to see.
Residents and relatives enjoyed the spread and glass of bubbly, and there was lots of positive feedback from the relatives that came to see, and the residents were also really chuffed to see their art work displayed.
Staff from The Orchard Nursing home also walked 10k to raise money for the Alzheimer’s society, walking 5k to Hatfield, stopping off for some lunch and walking the 5k back.
All in all the care team and residents managed to raise £240 Alzheimer’s Society! Well done team!
