Baking and tasting at Horsell Lodge
The residents and team at Horsell Lodge Care Home took part in a 'roll bake off' with everyone donning their baker's hats and rolling up their sleeves. Getting involved by mixing the ingredients, kneading their dough and shaping ready for baking and the end results were enjoyed by all. It was wonderful to see everyone working together, with lots of laughs and kneading dough is good for joint mobility, whilst the smell of baking can help to stimulate appetites too.
To mark National Cereal Day the residents took part in a quiz and tasting session on their all time favourite breakfast cereals. They were asked how many of the cereals on offer they had ever tried and whether they prefer to pour milk or cereal first. There were a range of samples to tempt them including Rice Krispies, Crunchy Nut Clusters, Cheerios, Coco Pops and Shreddies.
