Benson House Care Home team are ready to welcome their first residents
The Caring Homes team at Benson House Care Home are ready and waiting to welcome their first new residents into this purpose-built, luxury home in February.
Benson House Care Home has a perfect location in Benson, Wallingford, situated opposite the River Thames offering residential, respite and specialist dementia care.
The Home has a bar, bistro, hair salon and cinema plus a choice of comfortable lounges and quiet rooms. Benson House is surrounded by gardens with several rooms having access to the garden from their own private patio areas. There is visitor parking and easily accessible public transport.
State-of-the-art facilities for people living with dementia include acoustic monitoring, stable door designs for the bedrooms as well as our own accredited dementia training for all our colleagues to ensure the best understanding of the condition.
Home Manager Marilyn Kimayong said, “This is a really exciting time for the team here as we look forward to welcoming our first residents and seeing the Home come alive.
“Looking after a purpose-built new commission and seeing it grow from the ground upward has been a great experience and I have been able to play a big part in recruiting and developing a professional and compassionate team around me at Benson House where we will be delivering the highest standards of residential, nursing and dementia care.”
Marilyn is a qualified nurse with a background in care of the elderly and has worked in a variety of settings around the world including China, Taiwan and the Philippines. She has worked for Caring Homes for the past 16 years and is passionate about providing the best possible care and making a positive difference to the life of every resident.
Marilyn added, “As Home Manager I enjoy the variety and the challenges which each day brings at a care home. I take a lot of pleasure from spending time with relatives and residents, understanding the important contribution that these relationships make to the successful running of a care home.
“I love to walk the floor and will be a familiar sight to the residents at Benson House.
As this is a new home this is something I am especially looking forward to – being able to spend that special time welcoming people into the family and helping them to settle into their new home, gradually building up the number of our residents.
“I am also looking forward to building up strong relationships with the village community that we will be an active part of and exploring the lovely village of Benson and the surrounding area.”
