Blenheim Court Goes the Extra Mile for the Coronation
Blenheim Court Care Home in Liss, Hampshire, celebrated King Charles III's coronation in style with a week of coronation festivities leading up to the big day.
The coronation of King Charles III was a historic event for the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth realms. At Blenheim Court Care Home in Hampshire, the team ensured our residents were able to enjoy the festivities in a safe and enjoyable manner. The day was full of anticipation and excitement, with Union Jack flags being waved and colourful bunting decorating the home and gardens. Despite the British weather not living up to expectations, residents were determined to show their British spirit. Many braved the elements and took part in the celebrations outside!
Special Celebrations
The Hampshire care home held a fancy-dress competition, decorated the home with balloon displays and bunting, and – no strangers to a royal occasion – enjoyed plenty of royalty-themed food and drinks. The celebrations culminated in a hearty BBQ, classic English puddings, and a glass of Pimm's on the weekend of the coronation. This was then followed by afternoon tea and dancing in the home's bistro.
Blenheim Court’s Deputy Manager, Kelly Bessey, even surprised everyone by singing ‘It’s Got To Be Perfect’ acapella-style, with plenty of residents and team members joining in.
What Everyone Had To Say
Home Manager Samantha Booty praised the team for their hard work. "Our team and residents really pulled together to make this a memorable event. It's important to us that our residents feel connected to current events, and the coronation was a perfect opportunity to celebrate together."
One of the residents was particularly thankful to the Blenheim Court Care Home team. “It is quite amazing the celebrations you can put on for the residents and we can always rely on Blenheim Court to put on a good show. We thank you all and appreciate it takes the whole team to make an event like this be successful.”
