Brooklyn House Hold Their Own 'Antiques Roadshow'
The staff and residents of Brooklyn House Care Home welcomed over 40 people for a fantastic day at their first ‘Antiques Roadshow’ yesterday, including Attleborough mayor Karen Pettitt.
A team of valuers from ‘Clover Home Interiors’ in Attleborough and ‘The Gold Shop’ in Diss were on hand to value a wide range of items including paintings, crockery, jewellery and silver pieces.
Home residents, relatives and members of the local community queued up clutching their prized possessions in the hope of the valuers discovering a ‘hidden gem’. Whilst no one received a life changing valuation, the tombola and cake stall ensured everyone was able to take something away with them.
Brooklyn House manager, Sarah Taylor said:
“The day was a real success and it was great that so many people from the local community came along to support us. Our residents and their relatives loved seeing the valuers in action. Everyone who attended had such a good day that we are already looking into making it a regular event.”
Brooklyn House is a modern, purpose-built care home in Norfolk with nursing for up to 40 elderly people.
