Brooklyn House raise money for Children in Need
21st November 2016
Staff at Brooklyn House in Attleborough this week made residents smile as they took to fancy dress for BBC Children In Need.BBC Children in Need is particularly close to our hearts, although at the other end of what we do, children need as much protection as the elderly. As the charity helps children in the UK who are disadvantaged it gives us all the chance to give back to the local community. This in turn provides our residents with a sense of community spirit, and purpose which helps lift moods.Residents said it was nice to see staff dressed up, and made the day entertaining. Resident Vicky said, "What a nice change and lovely surprise. It’s great to see all the bright costume colours.” These activities are great for getting everyone involved and help with socialising and communication. Some residents and staff also had a big night in with Pudsey, although we didn't manage to stay up to watch it all!Staff, relatives and residents have been collecting money for the ever popular charity over the last few weeks. A total of £35 was raised.Brooklyn House provides specialist nursing care in a purpose built environment for up to 38 elderly people. If you would like to find out more about life at Brooklyn House and the care we offer, or to request a meeting with our Home Manager, please contact us on 0808 223 5412 or [email protected].
