Care Home Open Week Celebrated In Style At Parris Lawn Care Home
With Caring Homes' 30th birthday celebrations taking place during Care Home Open Week, Parris Lawn saw the perfect opportunity to host one of their customary fabulous parties.
Stylish Decorations and a Very Special Cake
This was a very important week for the home, and for everyone involved, with the main event set to take place on Thursday 27th June. The home was stylishly decorated with balloons, bunting and a huge 30th birthday bow, setting the stage perfectly for the day of celebration. Peggy Z, who has been a much-loved resident for many years, alongside Julie Barnett, Parris Lawn’s Dementia & Frailty Coordinator for Foundry Healthcare Lewes, were tasked with cutting the beautiful 30th anniversary cake. “Peggy, we love you, and Julie, it is always a pleasure to have you in our home!”, said Customer Relationship Manager, Jesse.
The Local Community Comes Together
The Wellbeing Team created a wonderful raffle with super prizes after some generous community support. Huge thanks from the Parris Lawn team to Staverton's Nursery, Paradise Park, Depot Cinema, Studio 76 Ringmer, The Beauty Lounge Ringmer, Our Pet Shop in Ringmer, Goldcliff Garden Centre and Zorba in Lewes, for their amazing donations towards the raffle. Once again, the communities of Lewes and Ringmer came together to make people smile.
The home’s dedicated catering team created a beautiful buffet which was enjoyed and appreciated by all, and resident entertainer, Dave Collins, kept residents and visitors singing throughout the day.
Although residents are always at the heart of all events and activities at Parris Lawn Care Home, relatives, neighbours and visiting professionals showed up in numbers as they always to, contributing greatly to the success of the day. A special mention goes to friends of the home from the Lewes & District Dementia Action Alliance - Lauren, Alison, Sarah, Jeanette, Bryce, Dan & Julie, who are always welcome at Parris Lawn.
Residents are “the Light in our Lives”
The whole Parris Lawn team worked together to make the day a success, always keeping focus on the people who matter most – the residents. As for the residents themselves, Jesse had the last word: “You are the pillars of our home and the reason we get out of bed every day. You are the light in our lives, and you make the days worth it. Never change”.
Now there’s something that needs celebrating. Here’s to 30 more years of incredible teamwork and outstanding care!
