Caring Homes Acquires Three New Homes

14th October 2015

Caring Homes Group has recently acquired three homes – located in Suffolk, Aberdeen and the Isle of Man – to add to its portfolio of UK care homes.

Caring Homes now has more than 60 elderly care homes, with Cotman House & Lodge on the Suffolk Coast at Felixstowe, Hawkhill House in Aberdeen and Castle View on the Isle of Man, joining the company in September 2015.

Managing Director of Caring Homes, said: “I am extremely pleased that these three new homes have joined our family of Caring Homes. They will strengthen our quality care provision for families in the East of England, Isle of Man and the north-east of Scotland.” He added: “We all look forward to maintaining and enhancing the care that these homes offer locally as Caring Homes.”

Cotman House opened in April 2011 and is purpose built, whilst Cotman Lodge is formed from the original home and offers residential care. They jointly offer care for up to 61 people. Both homes are built into the cliff-side directly above the pier and face due south, offering superb uninterrupted sea views of Felixstowe Bay. They are active and lively homes with well-established community links. The homes are named after the well-known architect Thomas W Cotman (1847-1925) who designed many well-known buildings in Felixstowe including the railway station, Harvest House (Felix Hotel), the Orwell and Bath Hotels, Barclays and Lloyds Banks plus many others. He also designed and lived in the original bungalow that forms the lower two floors of Cotman Lodge. He was the nephew of John Sell Cotman, the famous Norwich water-colour artist.

Castle View nursing home on the Isle of Man is a purpose built nursing home, offering dementia, nursing and respite care for up to 66 people. Set in secure, landscaped grounds with views over the hills and sea, Castle View is conveniently located on the outskirts of the picturesque city of Peel on the Islands west coast, and has become an active and lively home with well-established community links.

Hawkhill Care Home in Aberdeen, offers nursing care, palliative care and respite breaks for up to 48 people in North Deeside Road in the Milltimber area of Aberdeen. The home is situated in a residential suburb of the city, next to open countryside with one and a half acres of sheltered grounds. It is an active and lively home, with well-established local community links.
