Caring Homes Campaign Puts Nursing Care In The Spotlight

13th January 2025

We are proud to begin 2025 with a campaign that celebrates our outstanding nurses and their invaluable contribution to the lives of our residents at Caring Homes.

The campaign, which launched on Monday 13th January, will feature a series of events being held across 16 of our Caring Homes.

A New Website Section and a Series of Insightful Videos

We have also created a new section for our website which is all about nursing. It gives details of the nursing care available at Caring Homes, offers downloadable guides, and includes stories and videos where nurses, residents, family and friends share their experiences of nursing care at Caring Homes.

Filming recently took place at Laverstock Care Centre in Salisbury, Parris Lawn Care Home in Lewes, East Sussex and Homefield Grange Care Home in Christchurch, and the results demonstrate the strong bond between residents, their families and friends, and our nurses, which was also evident in the way they so openly shared their stories. You can watch all three short films here.

Campaign Features Events and Activities at our Care Homes

16 of our care homes are bringing the nursing campaign to life by hosting events and activities under the banner, ‘Keeping Healthy in Older Age’.

It’s a chance for members of the public to meet our teams and find out more about the care provided, and we’re also encouraging visitors to think about their own health. Our homes are participating in a number of different ways which include the offer of free blood pressure checks, healthy drinks and snacks and information about nutrition, hydration and oral health for the elderly, as well as the chance to join a seated exercise class or experience holistic relaxation treatments.

You’ll find details of specific events at each of our 16 participating care homes on their individual pages: Benson House, Blenheim Court, Broadbridge Park, Brooklyn House, Castle View, Hawkhill House, Homefield Grange, Horsell Lodge, Latham Lodge, Laverstock, Parris Lawn, Sanford House, The Manor, The Orchard, The Pines and Whittington House.

Why Our Nurse are an Integral Part of Our Residents’ Care

Caring Homes’ Clinical Director, Frank Cummins describes himself as “nurse first, director second” and is a proud ambassador for nursing care at Caring Homes, which is personalised to suit each resident’s needs and wishes:

“Getting to know not only the residents, but also their family and friends, is collaborative working at its very best - something that is second nature to our nurses, who also understand the need to maintain our residents’ dignity and respect. There are skilled nurses on duty in our nursing homes 24/7 and this campaign is designed to give greater insight into why they are so crucial in enabling every resident to live their own life with purpose, happiness and independence”.
