Chinese New Year at Whittington House
19th February 2018
On Friday, February 16th at Whittington House Nursing Home in Cheltenham, we celebrated the Chinese New Year with our residents, guests and team. Our Art Club had been hard at work making Chinese Lanterns, fans and colouring dragons and Chinese lettering which were used to decorate our dining rooms.2018 is the Year of the Dog and to acknowledge this during the afternoon at Film Club we invited residents and guests to the cinema to watch the film ‘A Dogs Purpose.’To end the day, our Chef and his team cooked a special Chinese supper of Egg Fried Rice, Szechuan Chicken with accompaniments of sweet and sour vegetables and prawn crackers. It was so nice to see the residents and our guests enjoying the experience of tasting Chinese food, especially when they asked to have more!It was a great way to end such a lovely day of celebration. So on that note, from all of our residents and team here at Whittington House, we wish you:
A Happy New Year: 新年快乐 (xīn nián kuài lè)
