Chocolate tasting at Whittington House
13th September 2018
Whittington House Nursing Home in Cheltenham treated residents and their visitors to a chocolate tasting afternoon! We had over 20 different varieties including very rich dark, white and milk chocolate. As we gave each sample of chocolate to the residents we asked them to smell for any clues as to what the ingredients could be and to look at the chocolate to distinguish the colour. After each tasting we made sure the residents had a sip of water to clear their palette! We all voted and it was unanimous that the two favourites were both dark chocolate, one flavoured with lavender and one flavoured with lemon cardamom. There were 3 varieties which were voted the least favourite. These were a dark chocolate flavoured with chilli and 2 which were milk chocolate, 1 containing Oreo biscuit, and1flavoured with Chai Latte. This activity is both entertaining and stimulating which enables the residents to socialise with one another.“Gosh I never knew there were some many different varieties to choose from, a real eye opener.”“Thank you for another interesting and very different activity.”Whittington House Nursing Home in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire is a modern, purpose-built home and provides residential, nursing and specialist dementia care for up to 66 people. If you would like to find out more about life at Whittington House, or would like to speak to a member of our team, please contact us on 0808 223 5396 or [email protected].
