Community My World Rocks at Horsell Lodge
The My World Rocks Project at Horsell Lodge Care Home has been continuing to grow with the team at the home and also the local community getting creative. The community around the home definitely rocks and thank you to Leonie (14); Isabelle (13); Alistair (11) and Evalyn (7) for their wonderful pebbles as well as the team at the home who have added some wonderful colourful masterpieces to the collection.
Everyone at the home has been getting involved with our summer long project - My World Rocks – that was launched during National Care Home Open Week. Its purpose is to connect care homes with their local communities, challenge misconceptions about care and remind everyone that the unique individuals who live in care homes are supported by dedicated and professional caring teams.
The residents had so much fun painting colourful images and words that make them happy on rocks earlier in the summer, with the project aiming to create a wonderful rock garden for all the residents to enjoy. With the growing number from the local community we are definitely on our way to creating a wonderful rock garden in our grounds.
We look forward to being able to open the garden to the community when we are able to for everyone to see the lovely creations.
