Community Unites for Dementia UK Awareness: Cotman House Help Raise £1522
In a heartwarming display of solidarity and commitment, residents and team members at Cotman House Care Home, Felixstowe, Suffolk, part of the Caring Homes Group, rallied together throughout September for Dementia UK awareness. Residents and our team members pledged collectively to walk 30 miles over the month, seeking sponsorship from family, friends, and the public to support their cause.
Residents and team alike, strolled around Cotman’s gardens, corridors, and outdoor paths, to make sure they hit their target. As Cotman House offers residential, as we as light dementia Care, it was important that they raise as much awareness and donations as possible during the month to help Dementia UK continue the important work they do.
Through the generosity of sponsors, the group successfully raised an impressive £180 during their month-long campaign. What makes this achievement even more remarkable is that the effort of the Cotman House community contributed to the wider Caring Homes Group’s collective effort which raised an incredible £1522.
The funds raised will undoubtedly make a meaningful impact on Dementia UK's initiatives, providing support for individuals and families affected by dementia while also contributing to vital research and awareness programmes.
The success of this campaign not only demonstrates the compassionate spirit within Cotman House but also emphasises the power of communities within our homes and local areas joining forces to address important issues.
