Cotman take a trip to Wyvale

9th September 2016
The residents at Cotman House and Lodge in Felixstowe, took a trip on the mini bus to Wyvale this week.We began the day with refreshments in the spacious dining area at the garden centre; coffee and tea. This was followed by a wander around the garden centre, the residents were all delighted with the wide variety of plants on display, which sparked off lots of discussion and enthusiastic plans were made for their own garden. At Cotman we actively encourage our residents to get involved in the garden in some shape or form, whether it’s helping plan or actually planting, it’s a fantastic way for them to look after their health and to stay busy and motivated, even for those with limited mobility or fitness. They enjoy getting outdoors and it’s a great way to get regular low impact exercise and of course have fun.We are proud of our garden as it offers an area for reflection, relaxation, therapy, and often quite simply a space where our residents can spend time together along with their family, friends and carers in a safe and protective environment, overlooking Felixstowe Bay.A good time was had by all.[gallery size="medium" link="file" ids="15002,15001,15000,14999,14998"]As a residential home it is important to our residents that they continue with a lifestyle that they have become accustomed to. Our highly skilled carers take the time to get to know all of our residents, learning their personal history, preferences, routines, hobbies and interests. Knowing their stories is as important to us as it is to them; helping us shape each person’s care plan and allowing them to enjoy the experience of living with us.Cotman House and Lodge provides residential care in a purpose built environment for up to 61 elderly people over looking the Felixstowe Bay.If you would like to find out more about life at Cotman House and Lodge and the care we offer, or to request a meeting with our Home Manager, please contact us on 0808 223 5321 or [email protected].
