Different cuisines and entertainment at The Pines
20th June 2016
Local entertainers visit residents at The Pines on a weekly basis and are a firm favourite with residents. Often local singers come to the home to sing old favourites and build a fantastic relationship with residents. This means residents feel happy and comfortable to join in with songs whenever they feel the need or want to. If residents can, they are up and dancing along to songs – sometimes together, sometimes with staff, sometimes independently!“Music is really important to us at The Pines” said the Home Manager; “We know that everyone has memories associated to certain songs and by welcoming a local entertainer into the home every week, those memories can be celebrated together. It’s so lovely to hear our residents singing along together and talking afterwards about what they remember about the songs they are singing.”Residents are also offered a variety of different dishes from around the world on a regular basis. When the weather allows, residents and staff sit outside to enjoy the mouth-watering flavours. Keeping dishes varied and diverse is important to head chef, Elona, who caters to a variety of dietary requirements within the home. “I enjoy cooking with different ingredients and keeping dishes really interesting and varied for our residents” said Elona; “I know how important food is to most people and I really love seeing how happy my cooking keeps residents.”The Pines care home in Putney offers residential and nursing care to 42 elderly residents in a charismatic and charming building. Light, spacious and airy, The Pines care home has a real ‘home from home’ atmosphere with a variety of outdoor areas residents can enjoy in the summer months. To find out more about the home or to book a visit, please call 0800 223 5542 or click here to send an email.
