Easter Crafts and Weekend at Benson House
The residents and team at Benson House Care Home were busy in the lead up to Easter with various arts and crafts themed for the weekend and then celebrated in style. The residents at the home like to get involved in the arts and crafts activities and for Easter they coloured in their own Easter Bags, made Easter Bunnies, decorated eggs and filled them with assorted chocolates (well, those that actually made it into the basket!).
Activity-based care is a key ingredient for our residents to feel engaged and helps socialisation within the home, which is why craft sessions like these are so popular with our residents. and a wonderful way for them to show off their creative side.
With all the decorations in place on Easter Sunday they had a special visit from Father Patrick for Easter Holy Communion and hymn singing, followed by a lovely Easter lunch. All residents received an Easter Egg and hand-made card which made the day extra special for all. Residents commented "Thank you so much, how very thoughtful", "Thank you, that's very kind" and "What a lovely surprise, thank you".
