The son of Elvis visits Cotman House and Lodge
25th July 2016
The residents of Cotman House in Felixstowe, were thrilled to be entertained by the Son of Elvis, the King of Rock and Roll, this week. The residents, families and care team were serenaded by Elvis with songs such as 'Love me tender', 'Heartbreak Hotel' and 'Hound Dog'. Some of the ladies were massive fans of Elvis when they were younger and loved having Elvis dancing and singing around the home. The power of music, especially singing, to unlock memories and kickstart the grey matter is an increasingly key feature of care. It really lifts the mood of the residents, providing reminiscence of their younger years. Some of the residents got up and danced with the care team, whilst others reveled dancing in their chairs, singing and clapping along.Thank you for a fantastic afternoon, and we look forward to seeing you again soon![gallery size="medium" ids="14733,14732,14730,14729,14728,14727,14731"]Cotman House and Lodge provides residential care in a purpose built environment for up to 61 elderly people over looking the Felixstowe Bay.If you would like to find out more about life at Cotman House and Lodge and the care we offer, or to request a meeting with our Home Manager, please contact us on 0808 223 5321 or [email protected]
