Festive Gingerbread Houses at Horsell Lodge

At Horsell lodge Care Home the festive scent of gingerbread has taken over as the residents and team worked together to create some Christmas masterpieces in the shape of Gingerbread Houses. Keith, a resident who enjoys and supports all activities in the home enjoyed being involved from start to finish as he joined the team to build and decorate the house as an entry for the Caring Homes competition.

From laying the foundations and cementing the walls to glazing and decorating, designs were discussed and the strengths of the team were capitalised on - it was serious business! A lot of fun was had by all and it encouraged the residents to be creative, at the same time honing their teamworking, socialisation and fine motor skills.
