Fiesta Forever at Sanford House
28th February 2018
Sanford House in Dereham let a little sunshine into the home this week. Despite the cold weather it was Fiesta time at Sanford, as they held their Mexican Day.As part of the Wish List, resident Leigh Buckley’s husband, Derek, told us his wife would like to go on holiday to Mexico. Rather than take her to Mexico, the home brought Mexico to her. As well as staff in fancy dress, local singer Ken Connor entertained residents, singing in the lounges before going from room to room making sure all residents could enjoy his music. The residents were treated to a Mexican lunch of chilli con carne, a spicy stew containing chili peppers, meat (usually beef), and often tomatoes and beans. The Chef made sure that the meal wasn't too spicy for the residents, they really enjoyed the flavours andIn the afternoon the entertainment involved the residents all having a go at the piñata, which proved quite difficult to break, but they all cheered when it finally burst with surprises for everyone![gallery columns="2" link="file" size="medium" ids="24247,24246,24245,24244"]Sanford House provides specialist residential and dementia care in a purpose built environment for up to 40 elderly people. If you would like to find out more about life at Sanford House and the care we offer, or to request a meeting with our Home Manager, please contact us on 0808 223 5533 or [email protected].
