French students visit Laverstock Care Centre
8th March 2016
On Tuesday 8th March, Laverstock was visited by several students and teachers from Vendee in France.4 students and 5 teachers arrived by coach at 10am and stayed with residents for 2 hours. The visitors were given a tour of the care home and were split into three groups. Each group interacted with our residents, chatting to them and telling them about the area they had travelled from. The guests really enjoyed seeing an English care home, which they said wasn’t too different from a French care home. They remarked on what a lovely care home Laverstock is too!The students particularly liked seeing the sweet shop and the recently added post office, alongside enjoying a tour of the garden. At the end of their visit, the students gave a dance performance to our residents, which was really enjoyed by all. The teachers gave a bag of French goodies and memorabilia from Vendee. They will be returning again in two years, which our residents and care staff are really looking forward to already!
