Fun in the Sun at the Guysfield Summer Fair

On Sunday 22nd of July, we held our annual Summer Fair at Guysfield care home in Letchworth and what a brilliant day it was!We enjoyed a great turnout with lots of people coming to join our residents and team from families, friends, members of our local community and local businesses.On the day there were stalls to tempt everyone including Purity cosmetics, homemade jewellery, silky fans, beautifully crafted items by Barbara and much, much, more!It was great to welcome Nicola Holland from the Hertfordshire Care Providers Association (HCPA) of which we are a member. She talked about care for "Good Month Care" which proved very informative and interesting.The manager from the local Nuffield gym came along and kindly donated some lovely raffle prizes. We are also arranging for them to come to our home and offer keep fit classes for our residents, which we are looking forward to start soon. It’s great when we can work together and support local businesses in our community.Prizes this year were extraordinary and ranged from Arsenal tickets, a meal at Fantastic Fox in Willian, vouchers from the Cupcake Company, lots of gift vouchers for Spa, hairdressing and beauty treatments, to name just a few.Our winners were very happy with their prizes and from all of us at Guysfield, we would like to say a huge big thank you to our local community and wonderful friends who kindly donated these for our raffle.During the day, we all enjoyed a delicious barbecue, ice creams, refreshments and live entertainment from Beatrix. In the back garden, Bernie's Nostalgia Club was doing an amazing job not only entertaining children, but parents, residents and our team too. Bernie's magic show and puppet show were exceptional and every child got a prize for joining in the shooting games, making popcorn and much more.

Our next big Community Fair will be our indoors November fair and preparations will start shortly.
