Gingerbread House Creations for Laverstock
Laverstock Care Centre got the local community involved in a Gingerbread House activity with students from the South Wilts Grammar School creating some wonderful entries. The students at the school thoroughly enjoyed taking time to make their sweet creations and said "What a lovely idea and thank you so much for asking us to be a part of it. The students really enjoyed their morning making these! They are hoping they are now able to eat them too!"
The entries were judged by Elizabeth Bartlett, who is Salisbury's dementia specialist and is very well known at Laverstock. As she was judging the creations there were highlights she picked on all of them, Class 7A's entry she liked the Chimney, 7E's entry she picked up on the colourful roof, 7N with its attractively decorated garden, 7W just looked scrumptious. The overall winner was the entry from Class 7B as it was easily recognisable as a Gingerbread House and the outlining of the roof was particularly clear.
Elizabeth sent a message to everyone at the home:
"Wishing you all a very Happy Christmas and a Healthier New Year, I am looking forward to the time when we can see and hug our relatives and friends again. I hope some of us will be able to meet up in groups and share our stories as before. I have missed you. God bless you all."
Thank you to everyone who took part and what a wonderful way to start off the festive celebrations.
