Hard-working ‘Sonny’ is 104 Years Young
Everyone at Hillside Care Home joined popular resident John ‘Sonny’ Baker in celebrating his 104th birthday recently at the picturesque Great Cornard home.
Sonny, who lived and worked in London for much of his life, was joined by his son and daughter-in-law as a party was hosted in his honour. Sonny also has a daughter, Valerie, who lives in New Zealand, ten grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
In a lengthy working life, John ran a number of businesses including a butcher’s shop and a haulage company, before finally retiring at the age of 85. He then lived with his son for a number of years, before moving into Hillside a year ago.
Located in the village of Great Cornard near Sudbury, Hillside provides residential care for up to 37 elderly residents and has developed an excellent reputation for delivering the highest quality care.
