Hillside Care Home's Spectacular Bonfire Evening Celebration!
On Saturday 4th November, residents at Hillside Care Home enjoyed a dazzling evening of sparklers, hot chocolates and homemade cakes in a heartwarming celebration of Bonfire Night.
With the weather forecast looking unfavorable, the Caring Homes team at Hillside sought an alternative to ensure residents could enjoy the festivities within the comfort of their home. The moment the residents learned about what had been planned for that evening, excitement grew.
Surprise Visitors to the Hillside Care Home
That late evening the wellbeing team, accompanied by their children as cheerful helpers, initiated the festivities. Residents received sweet treats and everyone gathered in the Sun Lounge for a delightful session of hot chocolates adorned with marshmallows and cream. The icing on the cake - literally - was the beautiful homemade cakes crafted by the talented chefs at Hillside Care Home.
The highlight of the evening was the outdoor adventure with sparklers. Residents, wrapped up warmly, ventured into the courtyard in small groups while the wellbeing team ensured safety by placing sparklers in carrots. Brenda, Ivan, Nicholas, Evelyn, and Nick took a lot of joy from the magic of sparklers, creating beautiful patterns and writing their names in the night sky.
For those who preferred the warmth indoors, staff thoughtfully brought sparklers to bedroom windows, ensuring everyone could share in the joy of the sparkling spectacle.
A Night to Remember
This heartwarming celebration was a tremendous success, leaving residents with smiles and unforgettable memories. The wellbeing team plans to make this Bonfire Night tradition a cherished annual event at Hillside Care Home.
