Hillside enjoy a beach day
The residents and care team at Hillside care home in Sudbury enjoyed a day out at the beach, at home.
We brought the atmosphere and excitement of the seaside indoors to our residents. The Sun Lounge was decorated with cheerful bunting and some fun blow up seagulls and a monkey which added to the beach-feel! Whilst a bright, colourful sea-side back drop gave everyone a chance to have a photo taken to remember the day with our selfie kit.
A sensory 'Sea & Sand' experience was set up for our residents to enjoy, with a paddling pool and sand pit for residents to dip their toes, and the care team helped with the experience as our residents loved seeing them dressed in fun and very colourful beach-wear.
Traditional fish and chips and to be the meal for the day, followed by a visit from our local ice cream van!
Everyone enjoyed a beach-themed quiz and some reminiscence about fun-times with friends and family at the seaside.
