Homefield Grange Care Home residents enjoy a trip to Longleat Safari Park
The residents and team at Homefield Grange Care Home enjoyed a trip out to Longleat Safari Park, Ruth (Home Manager), Denise (Wellbeing Team Lead) and James (Wellbeing Coordinator) set off in the minibus and on arrival at the park took the opportunity to drive through the monkey enclosure where they got to see the animals up close and also fed the lemurs.
It was such a fun day the residents could not stop smiling and talking about the giraffes and zebras that they saw as well. After they had gone round the park they stopped in a shady spot to enjoy a picnic lunch that they had brought with them which was lovely in the wonderful weather, before heading back to the home to share their stories.
Longleat Safari Park has a range of different areas for visitors enjoy including the Monkey Temple which has long rope walkways running across the paths, which allows visitors to safely interact with a variety of marmosets and tamarins. In 2022, Longleat welcomed the birth of a southern koala, it is the first of its kind to be born in Europe.
It was such a lovely day out that the residents are planning ideas for the next one!
