Horsell Lodge grows runner beans
Throughout June at Horsell Lodge, one of our lovely residents, Celia, told us she would like to start growing her favourite vegetable, runner beans, in our garden. Of course, we made this happen for her. Our activities coordinator, Barbara bought and started to grow the beans at home, until they were big enough to pot in our garden.
Once they were ready, Barbara brought them into Horsell and we planted them right outside Celia’s room, so she can watch them grow and water them daily. Celia is excited for the beans to be ready so she can give them to the chef to incorporate in the meals the residents are here. What a lovely gesture for everyone to enjoy.
Thank you Celia and Barbara, happy vegetable growing.
