Horsell Lodge ensures resident doesn’t miss out on wedding celebrations
During the pandemic large weddings have evolved into intimate close family celebrations which have been made accessible to wider family and friends via live-streaming. Aloma, a resident of Horsell Lodge Care Home, would typically have played a central role in her granddaughter Tegan’s wedding, so it came as something of a shock to learn that with all the new restrictions she would not be able to attend in person.
Understanding Aloma’s huge disappointment, the team at the home liaised with mother-of-the-bride Roseanna to enable Aloma to virtually participate in the ceremony accompanied by her friends at the home. The residents dressed smartly for the occasion and the team set the scene of the wedding reception using the colour theme chosen by the bride, Tegan. From chair ties to balloons to festoons to flowers, the attention to detail and personal touch of the Wellbeing Coordinator Claudia did not go unnoticed.
On the catering side, our Chefs did Aloma proud with their delicate three tiered traditional cake, divine canapés and Prosecco to toast the newlyweds Tegan and Nick! Congratulations to the happy couple- Aloma, all the team and residents wish you love, luck, respect and happiness as you travel life’s journey together!
