Keeping active at Blenheim Court
The residents at Blenheim Court Care Home have been enjoying a range of activities that have been keeping them active over the last week. A few residents got involved in a baking session making fruit scones, which once baked everyone at the home enjoyed and they tasted delicious. It is great to see the residents working together to mix up some sweet treats and a fun activity, while being good for joint mobility, whilst the smell of baking can help to stimulate appetites too.
There were a range of arts and crafts activities which proved popular including flower arranging and rock painting, these are great activities where the residents get to show their creative sides and it is clear the decorative stones are going to brighten up the landscaped gardens at the home.
The residents at the home also got to enjoy the lovely weather while helping to complete the next stage of the garden project at the home, which was in the planting of their herb garden. They are looking forward to seeing, smelling and tasting the results. Growing flowers, fruit and vegetables is something that many people will have enjoyed over the years and for our residents this gives them an opportunity to exercise their green fingers. It also helps them to maintain independence and is perfect for getting some fresh air while sharing stimulating conversations with other residents while they work together.
