Latham Lodge residents hit the right notes
The residents of Latham Lodge Care Home have been rediscovering the joys of music after forming their very own choir.
The Hampshire home formed the choir thanks to a number of staff having excellent musical skills of their own. Two healthcare assistants, Wendy and Carla, are duet sopranos and the home’s deputy manager, Radim Base, plays the keyboard. They also have their own tenor on hand in Justin Grange-Bennett.
A number of residents take part in the choir and enjoy singing some old classics such as Mungo Jerry’s In The Summertime and the Beatles’ Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da.
Latham Lodge has been sensitively converted to provide the highest standards of nursing care for up to 39 elderly people in an environment that retains a real sense of home. Latham Lodge is located in an attractive residential area in Purbrook, on the outskirts of Portsmouth in Hampshire.
