Lava Java at Laverstock Care Centre
26th January 2018
At Laverstock Care Centre in Salisbury, with the success of the Mocktails in the summer we wanted to continue with supplying a wide variety of drinks to our residents and ensuring they keep healthy and hydrated. However with the colder weather we needed to mix things up and we have switched to hot drinks which is referred to as 'Lava Java'.Hannah our Activities Coordinator goes around regularly every week to see each resident and offers something a bit different to warm them up. We have hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows and a splash of Baileys if they wish.We also offer a wide range of flavoured coffees and teas so there is a warm and tasty option for everyone. It has proven a big hit with the residents including Michael who is pictured (attached) with Hannah and thoroughly enjoys when Hannah pops around with a favourite of his Earl Grey. This is our new and fun way to encourage our resident’s fluids intake and gives them something bright and tasty to look forward to, especially for those who are not so mobile or for those who may not want to join us at our new Coffee Corner area.Helen Pessell, Home Manager said
