Laverstock Care Centre Barry wins top award for fulfilling lives

Laverstock Care Centre’s activity coordinator Barry Pentelow has scooped a top award for fulfilling lives at the Caring Homes Group Recognition Awards.With over 5,500 employees across the group Barry beat off stiff competition to win the Fulfilling Lives Award for Caring Homes.The awards were presented at a glittering ceremony hosted at the Grove Hotel in Watford and presented by musician and singer Ronan Keating.Laverstock Care Centre is a modern purpose built care home situated in the medieval cathedral City of Salisbury offering residential, nursing and dementia care for up to 80 elderly residents.Following a review of over 3,000 nominations received from colleagues and people supported for the awards, Barry was shortlisted for this prestigious award.Barry has ten years’ experience and connects and communicates easily with every resident. He has enhanced the garden at Laverstock with a themed beach hut and realistic farmyard animals to help residents to reminisce.
