Laverstock Care Centre shortlisted for top award

Laverstock Care Centre was shortlisted for a top award at the Caring Homes Group Recognition Awards.With more than 5,500 employees across the group Laverstock Care Centre beat off stiff competition to be recognised as having the Best Dementia Care Team of the Year.The awards were presented at a glittering ceremony hosted at the Grove Hotel in Watford and presented by musician and singer Ronan Keating.Laverstock Care Centre is a modern purpose built care home situated in the medieval cathedral City of Salisbury offering residential, nursing and dementia care for up to 80 elderly residents.The team has specialist dementia training to support people living with dementia and actively promotes a dementia friendly community through sharing knowledge and experience.Following a review of over 3,000 nominations received from colleagues and people supported for the awards, Laverstock Care Centre was shortlisted in the dementia care category.The judges shared the views of one nomination which stated; “The team at Laverstock display the core values of dementia care - privacy, dignity and respect.
