Laverstock Care Centre welcomes visitors from Vendée
Laverstock Care Centre opened its doors to a large group of French students this week as part of an educational visit to learn about care in the UK.
The students, aged 14 and 15, explored all of the units and said a friendly ‘Salut’ to everyone they met. They had travelled from Vendée in western France and were also due to spend time at a nearby school as part of their visit.
Several of the residents impressed the visiting children with their recollection of the language as they conversed in their finest French, before the students entertained the residents with a selection of songs in their native language, some of which the more fluent residents sang along with.
Situated on the outskirts of Salisbury, Laverstock Care Centre is a purpose-built home that provides residential, nursing and dementia care for up to 80 elderly ladies and gentlemen.
