Lordship farm primary school visits Guysfield for Christmas cheer

13th December 2016
Guysfield care home in Letchworth was filled with excitement as the residents were joined by some of the children from Lordship Farm Primary School. In the afternoon one of our local schools visited us for the festive season, when the children visit Guysfield there is always a wonderful atmosphere with joy, laughter and singing. Lordship Farm was again a huge success as they sang beautifully for us. The residents faces beamed as they smiled and clapped along, tapping toes and participating in singing with them.Songs such as 'Away in a Manger', 'Ding dong Merrily on High' and 'Little Donkey' were all sung. Singing is a great way to increase the self confidence of the residents, this mixed with the interaction with children helps to reduce anxiety and increase quality of life as with it comes feelings of happiness and expression. Not to mention the additional exercise the residents get from dancing. After the singing the children enjoyed some juice and biscuits wit the residents, it was a wonderful Christmas spirited afternoon that we didn't want to end. We hope to see you again soon![gallery link="file" size="medium" ids="18536,18535,18534,18533,18532"]Guysfield provides residential care in a beautifully converted Country House for up to 49 elderly people in the conservation village of Willian. If you would like to find out more about life at Guysfield and the care we offer, or to request a meeting with our Home Manager, please contact us on 0808 223 5509 or [email protected]
