Magic Tovertafel table at Mellish House

Mellish House in Sudbury has installed a Tovertafel (‘Magic Table’).The award winning innovation from the Netherlands provides a number of fun activities designed to engage people living with mid to late stage dementia.Glenda Davison, Activity Co-Ordinator, said: “When I read about the Tovertafel, I was blown away with the possibilities it held for our residents.“It was wonderful to see the community come together to raise the money so quickly and make sure that Mellish House remains at the forefront of dementia innovation and care. Users can experience three primary outcomes of play: sensation, relaxation and reminiscence and the magic table provides all three. It can be left on 24/7 which allows residents to use it whenever they want.
