Mellish get green fingered

17th August 2018
A few residents from Mellish House care home in Sudbury went to The Eden Rose Coppice to harvest the beans and courgettes they were growing for a local charity. This charity supports disadvantaged people locally by delivering a hot meal. The Bridge Project has a cafe for the public to use with a pottery painting club among many activities for people to enjoy. At Mellish House we had a residents meeting and they decided that produce grown should be given to the charity. It appears many of our residents have green fingers and enjoy the quiet and peace of the coppice observing wildlife endogenous to this area eg. slow worms, newts and various birds etc. They are always rewarded with tea & biscuits surrounded by countryside.[gallery size="medium" link="file" ids="28530,28529,28527"]Mellish House Care Home is a purpose-built home providing residential care for up to 48 elderly residents living with a form of dementia. If you would like to find out about life at Mellish House or come and visit, please do contact us on 0808 223 5523 or [email protected].
