Mellish House Residents Celebrate a Festive Month of Music, Outings, and Kindness
Residents at Mellish House care home had a busy and festive month, enjoying a range of activities and outings. Live Christmas entertainment was a highlight of the month, with regular entertainers Theresa and Paul kicking off the Christmas spirit, followed by performances from local TGS school students and The Christopher singers, who got residents singing beautiful Christmas carols.
Residents also enjoyed some outings despite the chilly weather, with Grace and Elsie admiring the Christmas lights and Maureen and Marlene stopping at Tesco for coffee and flower shopping, as well as picking out Christmas presents for the home's guinea pigs at Pets at Home.
A highlight of the month was the care home's Christmas dinner invitation to their local nursery, Anglia Sunshine Nursery. The residents had a wonderful time, engaging in conversations and having fun with the lovely children.
The residents were thrilled with their presents this year. Mellish House received many generous donations, in addition to the presents given to residents. The thought, kindness, and number of presents received overwhelmed residents, and they were grateful for the love and generosity shown to them.
These activities and outings not only provide a source of joy and entertainment for residents but also offer numerous benefits, including mental stimulation, socialisation, and an opportunity to engage in hobbies and interests. At Mellish House, we strive to create a vibrant and fulfilling environment for our residents to enjoy, even during the holiday season.
