Michael at Sanford completes marathon for British Heart Foundation

Michael Radbourne, Adminstrator at Sanford House in East Dereham, completed a marathon just six months after suffering a heart attack and having a stent fitted.The 48 year old has taken up British Heart Foundation’s 'My Marathon' challenge, whereby runners pledge to complete 26.2 miles over 30 days. They can run whenever they want, wherever they want and at a pace of their choosing. Michael has run his marathon during September in aid of the heart charity and completed it on Friday 30th September in conjunction with the Macmillan coffee morning.Michael completed his marathon by running the three miles between Oak Manor in Scarning and Sanford House in East Dereham, and was met by family, friends, colleagues and residents at Sanford with balloons, banners and champagne!Michael said, “It was a bit hot but I managed to get here in the end,” after being showered with Champagne. “There were a couple of big hills in there, the last one was a killer, Swaffham Hill, it really slowed me down.”Sanford House provides nursing care and specialist dementia care for up to 40 elderly people.
