My World Rocks Project at Horsell Lodge
The residents and team at Horsell Lodge Care Home have been getting involved with our summer long project - My World Rocks – that was launched during National Care Home Open Week. Its purpose is to connect care homes with their local communities, challenge misconceptions about care and remind everyone that the unique individuals who live in care homes are supported by dedicated and professional caring teams.
The residents and team had so much fun painting colourful images and words that make them happy on rocks, as part of our summer community project, which will be creating a wonderful rock garden for all the residents to enjoy. Horsell Lodge reached out to relatives and the local community inviting them to paint their own rocks and bring them into the home to add to the rock garden.
The first rocks have started arriving from the community, thank you so much to the children from Beaufort School for the wonderful pebbles which have been added to the collection and we look forward to being able to open the garden to the community when we are able to for everyone to see the lovely creations.
